A couple of members told me they were gonna try and work at the track Sunday morning, providing the rains hold up.

Do we have any volunteers to help???

Due to The ROAR Race Sept 4th at Green Cove we will not be running a race here. Our next race should be Sept 18..

I would like to thank Carl Lebo for letting me know about the race..

Good Luck to all our members that attend the race...

I have not used it personally, but the specifications on the Traxxas (High Output version) radio looks quite good. It has Dual Rates, EXP, and can link up to 20 vehicles. Extra RX's are also cheap compared to other brands. The main downfall is you have to program using a few buttons and counting lights. Likely will have to keep the manual handy.

I have had DX3S before and it is a nice radio.

I should run what I sell....but I keep going back to Spektrum stuff for some reason.

Either slash you get will be a good choice. A lot of people still race the stock traxxas radio. As far as a transponder you can get them online or possibly a local hobbyshop. AMB is most popular but the track should have in house transponders

The club furnishes the transponders. Some members do purchase there own..I have the standard 4x4 Slash, so far so good. I enjoy it.

Once again(twice in a two week period)I'm at the track right now and the entire track is
100% without a doubt perfect for tiling, reshaping and packing right now.
I'm looking at it. Its 6:50 PM

(i thought i posted this ealier but it never appeared on the tread)

thx for the advice eddie

i understand what your saying about the platinum/ultimate difference. i'm just on the fence now deciding b/w radios (traxxas 2.4 or spektrum). i was thinking of getting the spektrum dx3s or just the dx2/3.0 to complete the platinum.

the upgrades i really wanted on the platinum/ultimate models are the swaybars and center defferential, but if your saying the plastic hubs are better then idk now if i should just get the regular rtr and buy seperate upgrades.

sorry for hijacking your thread "y2kgtp", but i think your in the buying process too so hopefully i'm helping somewhat

i was hoping to find some time to go help with the track work that needs to be done, so that i could ask these questions in person but my schecule and the rain arent helping

lastly, i know i need a transponder (is that what its called?) to race. do i get it at the track or buy it somehwere else? how much is it?

How is 1/8th scale brushless? This is my preferred class of choice, but I can go SC or buggy.

It's either XTM Xt2e or 4x4 Slash for me.....

To "swimmerx7" your going to be looking at the ultimate, its the same thing as a platinum but comes with a radio and battery, the platinum had limited edition- has no radio/reciever or battery so if you can find one cool but the only differences between the rtr and the ultimate/platinum is alum hubs and a center diff really. I personally have the rtr and it has advantages like the rear hubs being plastic have less toe than the alum, so that could be an advantage or disadvantave but the ultimate/platinum should have both the alum hubs and plastic hubs in the box. I do run the center diff on mine and it seems to work good. Either slash 4x4 you get will be a good choice.

i havent been to the track in several months, but within a couple of weeks school will let up enough for me to start racing and i'm planning on buying a slash myself.

so if your taking a tally i'll be there by the time you move down.

(i think i'm going traxxas slash platinum, just in case anyone wants to comment on that decision)

From what i heard there has been at least 3 to 4 slashs racing, on practice nights theres a bunch of us with them. I'm looking foward to racing here but i've been racing down in winter haven just cause they race nights, but with me and my buddy thats 2 and then a couple another will make a great and fun class.

How are the racing classes for these...fairly popular?

I personaly have both the slash 4x4 and 1/8th scale electric and the slash 4x4s are becoming very popular and it seems that half the people that show up on the practice nights have slashs. I haven't been able to race lately because of work but when i do race i'll race slash and 1/8 electric. Can't beat slash racing its a lot of fun!

Moved to Fl about a month ago...are the classes still apron the same? I sold all my stuff except for my kids Slash and batteries/chargers as I had no idea what i might get into.

If there was a Slash 4x4 class or 1/8th brushless buggy class, that would be my personal preference.
